Born in Moscow, Elena Gorbachevski began to
study art as a child and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from Moscow
State Pedagogical University in 1989. Early on, Elena began to develop
her very own special style, incorporating techniques
acquired when studying fashion design at
the Theater Art College in Moscow. In 1989, she set up in Moscow her own
studio, Gorbachevski Porcelain, which specialized in cobalt underglazes.
Since migrating to the United States, Elena
has transformed herself into a genuine American artist. She
combines skills derived from deep Russian and European roots with the
liberating opportunities of America
to create a distinctive,
personal artistic vision. In 1995 she opened a studio in Fredericksburg,
Virginia.
She has exhibited her works at art shows throughout the United States. Elena
has received awards at many events for her creative approach and the excellent
execution of her artworks.
Now you can see some of her latest works included in this site. We hope you
will enjoy and appreciate these creations.
